Installation

Difficulty: Moderate. Requires a sight pusher or brass punch to remove the factory rear sight and press the mount into the dovetail. A sight pusher tool is recommended for the best results. Allow 15–20 minutes. Once fitted, optic mounting takes an additional 5 minutes. Gunsmithing is required to file fit this.

What's the difference between this and the Optic Ready mount?

This Dovetail mount replaces the rear sight on standard CZ Shadow 2 models. The Optic Ready mount is designed for CZ Shadow 2 OR models that have a factory optic-ready slide cut.

Will this hold zero as well as a milled slide?

A properly fitted dovetail mount holds zero reliably for competition use. For maximum rigidity, a milled slide is superior, but the dovetail mount is the practical choice for shooters who don't want permanent slide modifications.

Can I co-witness my iron sights?

The rear sight is replaced by the mount, so you lose the rear iron sight. Some shooters add a backup sight plate or rely on the front sight for emergency use.

I removed the rear sight and just like the video showed I filed the red dot mount a little at a time until it fit snugly. My red dot mounted up perfectly. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but I'm sure it's going to be great.

I like using optics and when I purchased my CZ Shadow 2, I shot it with open sights, and then I found out how easy it is to add a plate for an optic. Very happy with the results. The fitment is very tight and requires some force to remove the open sights and fit the plate. With a couple of hundred shots fired with the optic fitted, the point of aim has not moved. Very happy with my purchase.

The plate was a very tight fit in the dovetail which means you are not relying on the grub screws to hold the plate into the slide. The plate is also as low as possible with this style of mount which keeps the dot low. Very solid plate and I am expecting many years of trouble free service.

Love the Red dot mount. I looked far and wide for a steel mount. Everyone sells an aluminum mount; I am not a fan of thin aluminum mount. Fear of threads pulling through and the mount coming off during rapid competitive fire.
