CZ Shadow 2 Questions
What are the best CZ Shadow 2 upgrades for IPSC competition?
For IPSC Production or Standard division, the highest-impact CZ Shadow 2 upgrades in order are: (1) Grip panels — carbide grips provide consistent hold in all weather conditions; (2) Magwell — brass for maximum recoil-absorbing weight in Standard, aluminium for Production division weight compliance; (3) Magazine base pads — brass or aluminium for reliable magazine drops and drop protection; (4) Guide rod — tungsten for additional under-frame weight and recoil reduction; (5) Red dot mount — for Carry Optics or Production Optics divisions. Boss Components carries all of these.
What is the best CZ Shadow 2 magwell for IPSC Standard division?
For IPSC Standard division, the Boss Components CZ Shadow 2 brass magwell is the recommended choice. It adds approximately 60g of weight low on the pistol, which improves recoil control and muzzle flip. The brass magwell is compliant with IPSC Standard division weight rules. The aluminium magwell (30g lighter) is recommended for Production division where the extra weight might push the pistol over the 1kg limit.
Are CZ Shadow 2 magwells legal in IPSC Production division?
No. IPSC Production division rules prohibit items that aid the insertion of a magazine, which includes magwells. Magwells are permitted in IPSC Standard, Open, Classic, Carry Optics and Production Optics divisions. For Production division, Boss Components recommends our CZ Shadow 2 aluminium base pads as a legal upgrade that improves reload consistency without violating Production rules.
What red dot mount fits the CZ Shadow 2?
The CZ Shadow 2 accepts two types of red dot mounts: (1) Dovetail mount — attaches to the rear sight dovetail without slide modification, recommended for Production Optics division; (2) Optic-ready slide mount — for CZ Shadow 2 OR models with a factory-cut optic plate recess. Boss Components makes both styles in multiple footprints: Version A (Holosun 507C/507K, Trijicon RMR), Version B (Leupold DeltaPoint Pro), Version C (Shield RMS/SMS/RMSc), Version D (Aimpoint Acro).
What grips are available for the CZ Shadow 2?
Boss Components makes three CZ Shadow 2 grip materials: (1) Carbide grips — tungsten carbide grit texture, maximum grip in all weather, available in flat and palm swell profiles; (2) Brass grips — adds up to 100g of low weight for recoil management, smooth or stippled finish; (3) G10 grips — lightweight aggressive texture, competition-standard material. All are IPSC Production and Standard division legal.
2011 / Staccato / Bul Armory Questions
What are the best 2011 upgrades for USPSA Limited division?
For USPSA Limited division, the highest-impact 2011 upgrades are: (1) Brass magwell — adds reload speed and weight for better recoil control; (2) Brass magazine base pads — weight and reliable drops; (3) Thumb rest — consistent grip index point for faster splits; (4) Extended magazine release — faster, more positive magazine drops; (5) Stainless steel guide rod — more consistent cycling. Boss Components makes all of these for Staccato, Bul Armory, STI and SVI platforms.
Do Boss Components 2011 parts fit Staccato P and C2?
Yes. Boss Components 2011 accessories are compatible with standard 2011 frame specifications used by Staccato P, C2, XL and other Staccato models. This includes magwells, magazine base pads, thumb rests, extended magazine releases and red dot mounts. Contact us with your specific model if uncertain about compatibility.

IPSC Division Rules
What divisions does IPSC Australia run?
IPSC Australia runs six main handgun divisions: Production, Standard, Open, Classic, Production Optics, and Revolver. Each division has specific rules governing pistol weight limits, magazine capacity, permitted modifications, and equipment. Boss Components products are designed for specific divisions — every product page lists which IPSC and USPSA divisions that product is legal for.
What modifications are legal in IPSC Production division?
IPSC Production division allows: sights (iron sights and approved optic mounts for Production Optics), grip panels and wraps (no magwells), extended controls (magazine release, slide stop, thumb safety), guide rods and springs, trigger work (pull weight must remain at or above 1kg), and magazine base pads (zero-round extension only — capacity-extending base pads are not legal). Boss Components labels all products with their Production division legality status.
