Hit factor questions

What is a hit factor?

Your stage points divided by your time in seconds. On each stage the highest hit factor earns the stage's full points, and everyone else earns a share in proportion to their hit factor.

Why do Major and Minor score differently?

A hits score 5 either way, but C and D hits score more at Major (4 and 2) than at Minor (3 and 1). That is why Major is popular in divisions that allow it.

What does "one point is worth" mean?

At your hit factor, gaining one point is worth the same as being that many seconds faster. If it is worth 0.20 s, slowing down 0.10 s to turn a C into an A at Major is a good trade.

Can I put this calculator on my club website?

Yes. Use the embed box on this page. It is free and runs on your site.
