Hello Darren, I wanted to give you an update after spending some time with the pistol. I took your advice and changed my thumb position slightly — I'm now holding my thumb more toward the front and wrapping it around the thumb rest. With that grip, the slide is now locking open with an empty magazine. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction on how to use the thumb rest. It made a noticeable difference. So, here's the new matrix for you: GREAT PRODUCT Fit: excellent. Appearance: excellent. Function: excellent. Ergonomics/control: excellent. After using this thumb rest for a while, I’ve found that it helps me establish a proper grip more consistently by providing a repeatable indexing point for my support-hand thumb. It fits my BUL Armory TAC 5” perfectly and feels well-designed without being overly wide. I was also able to make it work with my Safariland 6354RDSO holster by applying a small amount of heat with a heat gun to create just enough clearance. Overall, it’s a great product that fits perfectly and does exactly what I was looking for.
