Speed up your reloads with weighted brass base pads for Mec-Gar CZ Shadow 2 magazines. The added brass weight delivers faster gravity-assisted magazine drops — a proven competition advantage for Australian IPSC Standard and Open shooters running Boss Components magwells, and for Production shooters running a standard magazine well.

Weighted Brass Basepads for Faster Magazine Drops

The Mec-Gar CZ Shadow 2 Brass Basepad adds solid brass weight to your Mec-Gar magazines for faster, more consistent magazine drops during reloads. Designed for full compatibility with Boss Components magwells, these basepads are the go-to choice for competition shooters who want every reload to be clean and fast. Available in three finishes.

Division notes

Designed for IPSC Standard and Open, and made to work with a magwell. IPSC Production and Production Optics ban add-on magwells (rule 18.1) and only allow bumper pads that add or remove negligible weight (IPSC Handgun Rules, Jan 2026, Appendix D4 and D4a, rule 18.2), so this brass pad is not designed for those divisions. In Standard, the pistol with the magazine in must fit the IPSC box (225 x 150 x 45 mm). Check your division rules before match day.

Compatibility

Mec-Gar CZ Shadow 2 magazine tubes
Boss Components CZ Shadow 2 magwells
Does NOT fit factory CZ magazines or other aftermarket tubes

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this fit factory CZ magazines?

No. This basepad is designed exclusively for Mec-Gar CZ Shadow 2 magazine tubes. It will not fit factory CZ magazines.

Why choose brass over aluminium?

Brass is significantly heavier than aluminium. The extra weight helps magazines drop free faster under gravity, which shaves time off reloads in competition. If you prefer a lighter setup, choose the aluminium version instead.

Does this work with the Boss magwell?

Yes. These basepads are specifically designed for full compatibility with Boss Components magwells.
